Does GHTC accept my insurance?

We currently are in-network providers with the following insurance plans: Aetna, Aetna Better Health, AmeriHealth Caritas, Blue Connect, Blue Cross Blue Shield, CareOregon, Christus Health Plan, Cigna/Evernorth, Healthy Blue, Humana, Humana Healthy Horizons, Louisiana Healthcare Connections, Meritain, Multiplan, Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid), PacificSource, TriWest, Trillium OHP, UMR, United Healthcare, and WebTPA. We are adding more plans monthly.

We offer both insurance-based and private-pay therapy options depending on therapist availability and services requested.

Medicaid generally covers 100% of the cost of therapy. For commercial insurance, you may be required to pay a co-pay ranging from $15 to $40 per session. Some insurance plans may require you to pay your deductible in full before they contribute to the cost of therapy. In such cases, you will be responsible for the full cost of each session until your deductible is met.

How does therapy work?

Therapy involves working with a trained mental health professional to address emotional or behavioral issues. It starts with an initial assessment to understand your concerns and goals. Regular sessions use various techniques to explore and reflect on your experiences, develop coping strategies, and set achievable goals. Progress is regularly reviewed, and the treatment plan is adjusted as needed. Therapy concludes when goals are met, but follow-up sessions may be recommended for continued support.

Does GHTC provide in-person services?

We do not offer in-person sessions; all our appointments are conducted virtually through our telehealth platform.

What is high-functioning anxiety?

High-functioning anxiety refers to persistent anxiety experienced by individuals who often appear successful, organized, or capable externally while privately struggling with chronic worry, overthinking, stress, or emotional exhaustion.

What is EMDR therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy approach that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic or distressing experiences.

Can therapy help with people-pleasing?

Yes. Therapy can help individuals understand the root causes of people-pleasing behaviors, develop healthier boundaries, improve self-worth, and reduce emotional burnout.

How does out-of-network coverage work?

If the therapist you choose is not in network with your insurance, but you have out-of-network coverage, your insurance will cover a large portion of your therapy session. Ask your insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits.

Does it matter which state I live in?

Genuine Hearts Treatment Clinic (GHTC) is licensed to operate in Louisiana, Alabama, California, Florida, Louisiana, Ohio, Oregon, Minnesota, and Texas. If you reside in any of these states, we can provide support through our HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Our services are fully virtual, allowing us to assist you remotely.

How can therapy help me?

Therapy can assist you in various ways, including resolving conflicts with your partner or others in your life. It offers support in coping with major life changes such as a crisis, divorce, the death of a loved one, job loss, or a terminal illness. Therapy can help relieve anxiety or stress related to work or other situations and teach you how to manage unhealthy reactions like road rage or passive-aggressive behavior. It also provides support in coming to terms with serious physical health issues, such as diabetes, cancer, or chronic pain. Additionally, therapy can aid in recovering from physical or sexual abuse, dealing with sexual problems regardless of their cause, and improving sleep if you struggle with insomnia.

To get the most out of therapy, clearly define your goals and be open and honest with your therapist. Regularly attend sessions and actively participate in the process. Apply the coping strategies and techniques discussed in therapy to your daily life. Provide feedback to your therapist about what is working and what isn’t and be patient with the gradual progress. Consistent effort and engagement between sessions are key to achieving effective results.
